What exactly is a “Whole Food Plant-Based (WFPB) diet”?
In a nutshell, it means eating plant foods in their whole, unprocessed form, such as vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts & seeds, and whole grains. A WFPB diet does not include animal products, such as meat, poultry, dairy, or eggs. It also doesn’t include processed foods or sweets.
A WFPB diet has been shown to:
Lower cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar
Reverse or prevent heart disease
Prevent and reverse obesity
Lower your risk of cancer and diabetes
Slow the progression of certain types of cancer
Improve symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and many other lifestyle diseases
